Keeping your credit score high and mighty may seem next to impossible, especially when one late payment can sink your score.

Thankfully, these three tips can help you avoid missing another payment and keep your score climbing.

1. AUTOPAY IS AMAZING. Autopay is your best friend when it comes to paying bills on time. Most banks, companies, or utilities offer the service for free, some will even give you a discount for setting it up. Just be sure you have the funds in your account to cover the payments.

2. BILL REMINDERS RULE. Remind yourself when each bill is due by setting up notifications on your phone using your calendar or a designated app (e.g. Google Calendar or Truebill).

3. CREDIT BUILDING CARDS. There are specific cards designed to help people with low or no credit, improve their scores. Take the Extra card for example. It links with your debit card and allows you to “borrow” the money for 24 hours while it processes payment through your checking account. This allows the account to be treated as a credit card and report to all 3 credit bureaus.
